Dear Friends of Sunrise
As I begin mySunrisejourney,I am honored to join the dedicated, experienced Sunrise team who work every day to not only provide the very best in senior living but also infostering a lasting culture and mission that truly makes the organization unique.In my role as Chief Human Resources Officer, mypriority will be learning how I can best support our teamofheroesas they continue Sunrises 40-year legacy of championing quality of life for all seniors.
Itdid not take me longin learningmore about Sunrise anditsamazing history and future opportunities to know that I wanted to be a part of the organizations next chapter.I recently visited my first community andwas struck by the passion and commitment oftheteam to truly live the mission.In all they do, team membersare demonstratingthe core values of passion andjoy inservice. It was powerful to see the love andcompassionatecare exhibited towards each other andourresidents. As a daughterconsidering options for my own parents,I resonated with the type of environment I would want for my loved ones.
Creating safe, warm,and engaging communitiesisatestament to the Sunrise team and the alreadyrobustprograms in place to supportand develop talent. I look forward to building on this strong foundationand seeking opportunities tocontinue toensureweprovide a great place to work for our team.My passion is todevelop diverse talent, groomingteam members throughout the organization to be the next generation of leaders.Drivingand maintainingteam member engagementrequiresa strategy of continuous listening. At Sunrise, wewillregularly seek feedback from our teams so we can implement programs that not only support them but ourmission to serve and grow.
The former CEO of American Airlines once said that Airplanes take off into the windand I think about that often asIseek opportunities toensure our teamshave what they need to bring their very best towork.I believe whatSunrise has accomplished during the pandemic to maintainthe delivery ofhigh-quality care and service in new and different ways required by the challenges of COVID-19is a testament to the strength andenduranceofthis great team.Staying truetoour mission in the face of so much adversityis an amazing accomplishment,and I want to encourage moreserving hearts tofind meaning and purposeasa part of theSunrise family.
Like many organizations, attracting and retaining top talent is one of our key priorities as we emerge from the pandemic. Well continue torefine our compensation and benefits package to best support todays workforce,as well as keep a firm focus onmaking sureall ofour team members benefit from anenvironmentbased on diversity, equity, inclusion,and belonging. Sunrise has always had a values-based culture built onmutualrespectand understanding of differences, and I look forward to furtheringourjourneytoembrace integrating inclusiveness and equity practices into company life through established processes, programs, and daily team member behavior.
My first step as I join the Sunrise family will beto listen.Ill work collaboratively with our team members throughout the organization to shape the programs and resourcesthey need to continue to succeed.Iwill also want to hear from our residents andfamilies,whatare wedoing today that we need to make sure continues,andwhat opportunitiesexistto support our team.I am confidentinour collective strength,and if we can continue to improve, I knowthe incrediblecommitmentdemonstrated byourteamwill continue to bring brighter days to Sunrise.
